Judicial Council – Prerogatives of HCGI/HACIG
1. Legal Oversight and Compliance

Ensure that all activities of HCGI/HACIG adhere to national and international laws, particularly in relation to human rights and legal due process.
2. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration

Serve in collaboration with the Court of Arbitration (CAJU) as both an internal and external arbitration body to resolve conflicts involving members, partners, or external actors, based on law and organizational statutes.
3. Disciplinary Oversight

Collaborate with the Disciplinary Council to Investigate misconduct by members, ensure due process, and recommend appropriate disciplinary measures, including suspension or dismissal.
4. Legal Representation and Advocacy

Provide legal advice and representation for HCGI/HACIG in cases where the organization or its members are involved. Support victims of injustice in accessing legal recourse.
5. Monitoring Detention Centers and Prisons

Conduct regular inspections of temporary detention centers and prisons to evaluate conditions and ensure respect for the rights of detainees.

Report violations such as overcrowding, inhumane treatment, or lack of due process.

Advocate for the humane treatment of detainees and legal compliance in all detention-related matters.
6. Judicial System Monitoring

Observe and report on court proceedings to ensure transparency and fairness in legal processes.
7. Capacity Building and Legal Education

Organize legal literacy workshops for both members and the public to promote understanding of human rights and the justice system.
8. Collaboration with Judicial and Legal Institutions

Establish and maintain partnerships with courts, law enforcement, bar associations, and legal NGOs for shared objectives in justice and rights protection.
9. Campaigning for Judicial Reform

Advocate for reforms that strengthen judicial independence, eliminate corruption, and improve access to justice for all citizens.
10. Support for Victims of Abuse and Arbitrary Detention

Identify, document, and intervene in cases involving unlawful arrests, arbitrary detentions, or unfair trials, offering legal guidance and assistance.
