Prerogatives of the High Council for Peace – HCGI/HACIG
1. Conflict Prevention and Mediation

Prevent the escalation of local and regional conflicts through early intervention.

Mediate disputes between individuals, communities, and organizations with impartiality and neutrality.

Promote reconciliation and peacebuilding through dialogue and non-violent resolution methods.
2. Peace Education and Sensitization

Design and implement programs that educate the public on peace, tolerance, and coexistence.

Promote civic engagement, cultural understanding, and mutual respect across regions and ethnic lines.

Organize workshops, seminars, and campaigns on non-violence and peaceful conflict resolution.
3. Monitoring and Reporting on

Monitor regions or zones at risk of conflict or violence.

Report incidents of communal clashes, incitement, hate speech, or activities threatening peace.

Recommend actions to prevent further destabilization.
4. Support to Victims of Conflict

Provide psychosocial support and referrals to victims of violence or conflict.

Assist in reintegration efforts for displaced persons or former combatants.

Collaborate with humanitarian agencies to ensure protection and dignity for victims.
5. Institutional and Governmental Engagement

Serve as a consultative body to national authorities on peacebuilding policies.

Collaborate with ministries of peace, defense, reconciliation, and justice to shape sustainable peace strategies.

Participate in national dialogues, truth commissions, and reconciliation frameworks.
6. International Cooperation and Partnerships

Partner with international peace organizations and the United Nations to align with global peace efforts.

Promote Cameroon’s and Africa’s contribution to global peace initiatives.

Advocate for peaceful resolutions in conflict-affected countries across the continent and beyond.
7. Internal Peace and Discipline within HCGI/HACIG
-
Maintain harmony and discipline among members of HCGI/HACIG.

Investigate and mediate internal disputes or misconduct.

Promote values of respect, professionalism, and brotherhood within the organization.
8. Peace Advocacy through Media and Communication
-
Use radio, TV, social media, and publications to spread messages of peace.
-
Counter propaganda, extremism, and incitement with truthful, peaceful narratives.
-
Engage youth and influencers in peace promotion campaigns.
