Prerogatives of the Health Council – HCGI/HACIG
1. Health Rights Advocacy

Promote the right to health as a fundamental human right.

Advocate for equitable access to quality healthcare for all, especially marginalized communities.

Monitor and report violations of health rights nationally and internationally.
2. Public Health Interventions

Collaborate with health institutions to respond to health emergencies and epidemics.

Organize vaccination drives, hygiene and sanitation sensitization, and preventive health services.

Coordinate health outreach campaigns, awareness programs, and community health education.
3. Medical Support & Humanitarian Assistance
-
Provide medical aid and support to victims of human rights violations or natural disasters.

Facilitate access to medical consultations, referrals, and basic healthcare services for vulnerable persons.

Mobilize resources (medications, equipment, healthcare personnel) for humanitarian interventions.
4. Health Policy Engagement

Participate in the development and review of national health policies and frameworks.

Offer recommendations to government bodies and institutions on health-related human rights issues.

Engage with health ministries, WHO, and international bodies for policy alignment.
5. Mental Health & Psychosocial Support

Promote mental health awareness as part of human dignity and well-being.

Provide or facilitate psychosocial counseling for trauma victims, displaced persons, and HCGI/HACIG members.

Train health personnel on trauma-informed care and rights-based approaches.
6. Collaboration & Partnerships

Establish partnerships with hospitals, health NGOs, and international health bodies.

Work with UN agencies and donors to support healthcare-related projects and advocacy.

Facilitate training programs for health professionals on ethics and human rights.
7. Monitoring & Evaluation

Monitor the health status of communities where HCGI/HACIG intervenes.

Evaluate the impact of health programs and improve approaches based on feedback.

Publish reports and research findings on public health and rights issues.
8. Health within HCGI/HACIG
-
Ensure the physical and mental well-being of HCGI/HACIG staff and volunteers.

Develop internal health safety protocols for missions and interventions.
-
Organize first aid and emergency response training for members.
